Pros
You sometimes get to enrich the lives of animals.
Cons
They straight up, bold faced LIED to me in my interview saying "we only euthanize if court ordered or medically necessary." Constantly short staffed because they refuse to pay a livable wage, which results in little to no dog adoptions, which leads to 'making room' AKA euthanizing animals for reasons that don't make sense(dog reactive dog euthanized for attacking a stuffed animal, jumpy mouthy puppy euthanized for a bite that "barely broke skin"). ACAs qualify for low income wellness at their own clinic because they pay them so little. They expect you to come in on your days off for quarterly cleaning and training purposes. Management is toxic and is known for firing people for speaking up. They "give you so much time off" but will fire you if you use it saying even if it was approved time off it "doesn't adhere to their attendance policy." Management refuses to listen to any input or suggestions and immediately take personal offense even when they ask "how to make your job better."
