Pros
Great environment to be with experts in:
- Paddling
- Climbing
- Biking
- Hiking
- Horseback Riding
If you enjoy the outdoors, this is YOUR job. The gig allows 36 hours off per week, which doesn't seem like much - but it is if you plan properly. Some of us would go camping by ourselves in the free time, while others would be courageous enough to venture down to Charleston, SC.
The kids are great, although some can be a bit of a pain. Staff is great, and upper management are awesome. Sometimes they can get finicky about who is in charge and who is the head honcho - but that's working itself out.
Waterfront is the best place to work - I was on swim staff for two years and they were the best two summers of my life!
Cons
Salary ranges from 1500 your first year (some receive less) to 3000+ (2-4 yrs experience) depending on skill level. Not really a Con, but definitely something to keep in mind. (I mean, let's be honest - you're being fed all you can eat... so consider yourself lucky that you're not buying food for the summer!!)
