demanding management, poor communication, poor compensation, lack of benefits, lack of workplace autonomy, lack of upward mobility, hours randomly cut as a new employee, physically tedious work which could easily be automated, daily hour long unpaid lunch

Coworkers were generally good people.

Owner is absentee and only has negative feedback, never is onsite and we were told spies often through cameras. Pay offered on CL ad was less than actual pay. Benefits are precarious, the owner threatened to take away the marginal benefits we had. The few POC were treated badly, hours cut, told to go home before shifts starting for no reason, treated as threats to the “team”. Management was brow beaten by owner and highly ineffectual. The work is full as can be, the juice machine is wonky and is a very time consuming process - the bottling process is wonky too, there isn’t anything else. Tedious monotonous and boring. Owner fought a union effort by firing people. Hour unpaid break makes the day extra long.
