Pros

Got to work with a lot of great people, decent benefits, pet friendly office.

Cons

Executive team is completely useless. They took over a flailing company and somehow found a way to make it even worse. They have no idea what the software, their company sells, does and at times make it seem like they are inept when it comes to ECommerce. The CEO has lied to his employees many times in the past and thinks that everyone working for him actually believes him and respects him. That can not be further from the truth. The biggest lie was performance bonuses in 2015. On multiple occasions we were told that they were approved and that we had the funds for them, then September comes around and more than half of the company was laid off because of how poorly the business was doing. The promise of the bonuses is the only thing that got people to stick around and kept them motivated. Once it was obvious that they were a giant farce, people stopped caring and the little faith they had left in the Executive team was lost. The Executive team spent more time traveling between offices than actually spending time trying to come up with ideas to help make the company successful. It's not hard to understand how a company can fail if leadership is never around.

Pros

The people are great. They are smart and friendly and generally willing to help out when they can. The benefits are above average. Work schedule is flexible with regard to working from home when needed. You can have dogs in the office.

Cons

Management has not demonstrated the ability to maintain focus on a single plan for the future. Much of the downward spiral that was the last two years I would attribute to the constant thrashing of priorities as everyone was changing focus to work on the "new" big thing. The end result was that nothing got accomplished and all of the products were left woefully behind the competition. Communication is not as transparent as it could be. In a company this small, it is critical to keep everyone in the loop of what is happening. This was not always the case. Often things were simply not shared. Other times only half truths were shared or data was misrepresented. No one is asking to be at the table with the executives. All the employees are looking for is open communication about the direction of the company and the plans for the future.
