Pros
Teachers were dedicated and supportive of each other Nice new building
Cons
Unrealistic expectations of teachers. A total of $50 was given to teachers to outfit their classrooms. HR failed to file new teacher deductions correctly, resulting in paychecks that were $100's of dollars short of what was negotiated. Teachers are paid less than at fast food restaurants but expected to work 10-12 hour days and manage up to 140-160 students. HR failed to pay new teacher health insurance for several months, resulting in the teacher receiving late notices and being unable to get medical care when needed. Students regularly bully teachers and are not held accountable. HUGE staff turn over, 12 staff members left or were fired without notice in just one semester. Special needs kids were put in with teachers who had no experience dealing with their needs and 25 other kids to manage. These kids would often hijack the entire class by behavior disruptions such as screaming, rocking desks, refusing to sit down and threatening the teacher. The employee handbook is a farce, Teachers are let go regardless of multiple positive peer reviews, without notice and without severance, then you have to fight with HR to get your last paycheck. Horrible, horrible experience!
