Pros

Exciting projects. Everyone feels like a family. There is always a lot of laughs and good stories being shared. Employees always seem genuinely happy to be at work and with what they are doing. Lots of room and encouragement to continually grow and try out different interests. The Kingsport facility is growing fast and getting involved in a lot of innovative ideas. Management and Sales in this facility are constantly looking for new projects and opportunities to continue growing and expanding and they're really good at their jobs. They provide flex time vacation that is easy to access and submit requests whenever needed. I've been told on several occasions that this is the place employees want to retire from. Management is very hands on, but in a supportive way. They also listen well to any kind of complaint or idea that is brought up. They also do periodic surveys to make sure that everyone is happy and to see where they can continue improving their processes. The entire team is very supportive of one another and making sure that everyone is always able to do their best work.

Cons

Work flows from busy to slow, but it's usually only a short term issue. Management is really good at keeping upcoming projects always in sight for future endeavors.

Pros

The company has a bit of a startup-like vibe, and still feels established. They’re pretty open to letting younger engineers take on real responsibility , which makes it a good place to grow. From what I’ve seen in all-hands meetings, the senior leadership also seems to genuinely care about employees—you can kind of tell they’re paying attention and trying to take care of the team.

Cons

There’s nothing perfect, enjoy the time when you get in.

Pros

You are surrounded by excellent colleagues across all departments, with the exception of Government Property.

Cons

The Government Property team suffers from severe leadership deficiencies and a toxic work culture. The Senior Manager has a well-documented history of high turnover, carrying a reputation from her previous role where team members actively sought transfers. Under this leadership, promotions are actively discouraged through targeted hostility and fabricated performance issues. Because the management team lacks foundational people skills and prior leadership experience, employee retention is critically low. While other departments within the organization offer great opportunities for growth, transferring into or staying within Government Property is highly discouraged.
