Pros

We are located basically on the beach, on my lunch break I can drive to Oceano and eat on the beach. The office is an uplifted environment. There are plenty of opportunities to move up. Pete, The CEO offers promotions before hiring outside of the company. Pete is a great boss due to the fact that he can keep the mood fun and happy while also being disciplined. We have an amazing team of engineers who are always there to help with any computing issues we may come across.

Cons

Some don't like the CEO due to his ability to be disciplined. This is usually the case of those who NEED the discipline the most. Some times employees don't last very long because of the chaos of a software company. There are time pressing issues that need to be allotted more time for completion.

Pros

Matt is awesome and really knows his stuff. Learned a lot from him.

Cons

A lot of contracts coming and going, so you need to be able to learn and adapt quickly.

Pros

I worked at Moon Valley for over a year. I got to watch the tides of employees rise and fall. I've kept up to date on the reviews here, and I can understand what they say. Personally, I found Pete somewhat intimidating. I think it's important to note he's a grandfather while most employees at Moon Valley are in there 20s. I feel like this generational gap has caused a lot of the negative reactions to him–our generation isn't necessarily used to interacting with someone much older than us yet, and that can make a lot of behavior seem much worse than if it came from someone else. Perhaps my explanation of this is wrong, but I stick to the main point–while Pete could get exasperated and say less than ideal things at times, I think this fell squarely in the realm of excusable, normal behavior. In my experience, both with me and from sitting within hearing range of his office, Pete put a great deal of effort into clear communication and rarely made unfair demands. He treated me well and gave me incredible time and hours flexibility. I will look back on Moon Valley fondly.

Cons

– some questions asked during meetings were too specific for a quick answer (how many man hours will that take?), which led to hasty guesswork – raises were tied to a silly 6 month goal system – high turnover! I lost a lot of coworkers
