Terrible - Anonymous employee Morgan Philips Group Employee Review

Dear former colleague, we receive your comments with big disappointment. Probably you faced many challenges at our company and somehow we hold accountability for your bad employment experience and lack of success. Your comments, however, do not reflect in our view the experience of the vast majority of our employees, present and past. David Ng, our Managing Director in China, receives year after year the largest number of (anonymous)nominations to our annual Company Values Award. He is regarded as a leader who cares equally for his people and the company before himself. He spends a lot of time coaching and developing every of his team members. Therefore if David missed on supporting you, it was not for lack of competence given the good performance of our business overall, or out of intent. Regarding your comments on my person, they also triggered self-reflection. As a leader, I am indeed quite demanding on commitments, especially from our most senior and highly paid consultants and may become impatient for repeated lack of quality or performance after many quarters when compared with more junior and learning consultants. Women leaders’ assertiveness is often considered as rudeness when for male leaders it expresses strength. Women are expected to be nice at all times, certain circumstances most unfortunately do not allow this. We have, in our company, a clear commitment to supporting each other, to delivering too, to fairness and integrity as well as treating each other with care and respect regardless of seniority and role. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to emphasize this important message and once again, I feel really sorry for your bad experience and hope that you have now found an environment that allows you to excel.
