Morning was an excellent place to work. Like many people who come through there, I arrived as a young, multidisciplinary, energetic creative with high expectations— aware of the clock running on a wide range of ambitions. And the experience exceeded every one of those expectations. Ultimately the day-to-day was the highlight. There wasn’t a day that I didn’t want to be there. From their creative POV, to their people, to their ways of working, I had the infrastructure to do my best work.
As someone not particularly edgy, I found the vibe overwhelming coming in, but soon found these to be welcoming, nerdy people who like to laugh at themselves. For sure there’s a certain visual-social monoculture as a tool for unity, but whether you subscribe to it is up to you. I didn’t, and still found myself very connected to the team who became friends and mentors.
On the note of mentorship, the senior leadership is, I believe, the best in the business. I learned more from them over five minute calls than some do in months elsewhere. They’re not performative or put-on—rather freakishly perceptive, exceptionally clear communicators, and want to see you succeed. I’m deeply grateful for my experience at this company.
