Learn a lot, but not for everybody - Technical Recruiter Motion Recruitment Employee Review

Pros

Management is very hands-on and trains you well. You can talk to them about anything career-wise and they're very supportive about that skill development. The teams are small and become more knowledgeable than the average recruiter in the market on engineering. Full life cycle recruiting ensures you're responsible and capable in the whole process from landing clients, negotiating rates and salary, stakeholder management, sourcing, closing, etc. You'll develop a strong technical background and how to be adaptable in high-stress, fast-paced situations.

Cons

Lack of prioritizing diversity and inclusivity is a MAJOR understatement. High-stress for the reward isn't for everybody and you can burn out fast. Super difficult to maintain work-life balance because the environment fosters chasing more and more and more. Taking time off for anything will have you playing catch up so many people felt guilty or were guilted and keep working. Obviously high turnover. Low pay for market.

Cons

Only con was it took a while to finally start the job, but that wasn't Motion's fault.

Pros

- Free Bagels - Good training

Cons

Pay is far below what the role demands. Management is unprofessional and sets unrealistic expectations with little recognition or reward. No commission is paid until 10 full-time placements are made. Health insurance benefits are poor. A culture of bullying is tolerated and goes unaddressed. Employees are encouraged to mislead candidates and use their personal information to generate more sales, which raises serious ethical concerns.
