Pros

Motivf is still new and is experiencing some growing pains, but is a great opportunity for those who take advantage of it. The culture is not for everyone, so you need to consider your values when you join. It's a good fit for someone who is independent and proactive. It's not right for someone who needs a lot of hand-holding or direction. If you're someone with a specialized, but broad skill set who has flirted with the idea of going into consulting full-time but isn't ready to take that leap, Motivf is for you. If you're looking for a cohesive company feel with established practices and clear direction, then it may not be the place.

Cons

Due to rapid expansion, the employee base doesn't always match the company culture, which causes frustration among those looking for more stability and direction. Yeah, the paychecks are late sometimes.

Pros

The company promotes a very collaborative work style. We work in agile teams that are set up to respond to client and company challenges so any given week a consultant could be working on various issues. The company is really committed to growth and professional development of all of its people, but that presents a challenge for some people. Motivf management push leadership on people so it causes everybody to get out of their comfort zone. Everybody works together really well despite being located across the United States and around the world. We use Slack for most of our communication and a bunch of video conferencing tools, and they kind of foster a community network online. That makes it easy to work on projects that are on the other side of the world or country and to feel like you know the people you are working with even if you have never met them.

Cons

We have a lot of tools but not a lot of people know about them. I am always finding that we have more templates and stuff that I didn't know about. The pace of professional development and leadership responsibility puts pressure on some people. It is probably great for a certain personality type, but not for everybody. Client projects are diverse and sometimes you are working with somebody on the other side of the country (as a specialist) when it would be easier to work face-to-face.
