Pros

A few supportive colleagues made day-to-day work slightly more bearable. Occasionally had opportunities to learn new tools/skills out of necessity, not support.

Cons

Toxic work culture: Poor communication, blame culture, and little to no accountability from management. Lack of support: Training was minimal, expectations were unrealistic, and feedback was rarely constructive. Poor leadership: Decisions felt disorganised and reactive. Employee wellbeing was clearly not a priority. No career growth: Very limited opportunities for advancement or development — felt like a dead end. High turnover: Constantly understaffed and frequently saw good people leave.

Pros

Location of office has a lot going on. Employees are nice, however, watch your back. Opportunity to design high-end hospitality.

Cons

This studio is lead by bully's; a very toxic, abusive environment where you could not trust anyone. During my time at the studio, I observed several aspects of the workplace culture that I believe are important for prospective employees to be aware of. The directors tended to exercise a highly centralized, top‑down approach, concentrating decision‑making at the Director level, always attributing credit for projects to themselves rather than to the broader team that executed the work. Open, two‑way communication is not welcomed, and the language used in internal conversations was unprofessional, abusive, and disrespectful. Remarks that referenced personal characteristics, such as gender, age, or menstrual cycles, were made, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere for team members. There also appeared to be a pattern of preferential treatment for certain staff members, while others felt excluded or undervalued, leading to a sense of division within the team. Employees regularly worked long hours to meet project deadlines, yet acknowledgment of the extra effort was inconsistent; those who could not meet the extended expectations faced criticism or social exclusion within the group. The combination of a highly controlling leadership style, inappropriate language and remarks, and uneven recognition contributed to a workplace environment that many found stressful, toxic, and demotivating. While the studio produced quality work, the internal culture hindered collaboration and employee well‑being.
