Pros

* Transparent & approachable senior management team * Positive culture, centred around doing what's right for the customer * Great & helpful colleagues - no big egos * Acquired by Essilor, bringing more stability and opportunity for the future * Free fruit, Nespresso * Weekly (ish) company wide stand-ups with free beer/ wine/ g&ts, snacks * Open office layout, with all of the C-levels sitting with their team (no offices) * Cool office in Shoreditch w/ a pool table

Cons

* Stand-ups don't happen regularly * Office lacks proper management & care, e.g., stained carpet, messy kitchen area etc. Doesn't give a great impression to visitors, employees or interviewees. * Salaries are improving, but tend to be at the lower to mid-end * high technical debt that's only being slowly addressed * maternity pay is very poor - government minimum. A big negative for women who want to start a family

Thank you for your review. We are always looking at ways to improve our Employees' experience and encourage employee feedback. We have since reviewed our maternity policy and now offer an enhanced maternity pay package. We have also changed the London office cleaners and deep cleaned our carpets. We do carry out annual salary bench marking exercises to check how our salaries compare to the marketplace and annual salary reviews happen every February. We are working on the rest!

Pros

1. The work load 2. Non management people

Cons

1. The higher management do not care about anything other than the corporate overlords. Everything is covered in red tape and it takes ages to be heard (and then ignored). 2. The pay compared to other companies is low and pay increases are barely ever in line with inflation. 3. Corporate management keeps you in the dark. Redundancies are announced out of the blue. Everybody I know works without any kind of future prospect with the company. Unless you are higher up, you don't know anything. 4. Employee retention is just not a thing. If you don't like something, they will find someone who does. Unhappy about not getting a bonus? Be thankful you have a job. In fact, the ex HR director was seen smiling and grinning as around 40 decent people were made redundant.
