Pros

Good cause (helping neurological patients), Good field (Neurotechnology), Good co-workers (NOT THE FOUNDERS)

Cons

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! There is this pattern of hiring people, let them work for less than 1/2 months, exploit them as much as they can (holidays, weekends...) and maybe don't even pay them. It happened to at least 4 people that I know, let alone the others that will come after me. Do you want to sue them? You're in the probation so no lawyer can save you. Were you a full-time employees? They don't care. They will fire you for no reasons and they will leave you stranded on the street with no chance of getting the unemployment status, They will find a "bad reason" so you won't receive money and you won't proceed with legal ways to handle the situation. P.s.: the only good review on Glassdoor was done by the founder himself, since he's the only one living in Manchester and no former employees are from there.

Pros

MyelinZ is a genuinely mission-driven company working on a hard, meaningful problem in brain and body health. As a software engineer, you get a lot of ownership and the chance to ship real product quickly, with exposure to a broad tech stack (mobile, backend, data, and sometimes ML/biometrics depending on the role). The team is ambitious, collaborative, and open to new ideas, and you learn a lot simply by being close to the product and users. If you enjoy early-stage environments, you’ll find the work energising and the pace exciting.

Cons

As with most early-stage startups, priorities can shift quickly, and some processes are still being built. Timelines can be aggressive, and you may need to context-switch across tasks. Workload is very intense, so it's not ideal if you prefer a slower pace or very structured corporate processes.

Pros

I have been with the company for a little over two years at the point I am writing this review. During my time, I have worked on some of the most exciting tasks that often required a lot of creativity to get done. The number of things I learned has been unmatched by any other company that I worked on before. While it is indeed a lot of work and often there is a lot of stress, tasks here feel more like a problem I am curious to solve than annoying, repetitive work. Colleagues are also highly motivated, which creates an almost addictive atmosphere of getting things done together. - A lot of the most exciting tasks I have ever worked at - Fast access to new tools with almost no buerocracy - A lot of creativity (more than any other job I have worked at before) - Extreme commitment of the leadership - Exciting collaborations - Highly motivated and hardworking team

Cons

- A lot of work (although most of the time work is very exciting) and stress
