Pros
A great learning opportunity to understand where NOT to work or invest your time.
Cons
I joined this company temporarily and walked into a complete chaos. There’s no structure, no leadership, and most definitely no direction. Sprint planning is a mess. Tasks are thrown around randomly, often completely blocked by other tasks. People spend more time figuring out what to do than actually doing anything. Instead of hiring professionals or a proper project manager, company money is constantly spent on events and image-building. On the technical side? Same disaster. People are hired and let go constantly, so nothing is organized or consistent. They routinely ask for feedback on the product and other things, not because they genuinely want to improve, but because, despite the image they’ve built, they’re incredibly insecure about it (as they should be). What’s hilarious is that they say they welcome honest input, but the moment your tone shifts from blindly positive to even mildly constructive, they take it personally. Very few people who are actually good at what they do and offer valuable feedback get dismissed or completely ignored. What’s worse is how dishonest the leadership is. Most of what they post online or say in interviews and meetings about the product is simply untrue. They act—honestly, the only thing they’re actually good at—like they’re building something meaningful. But the product is nowhere near usable. I doubt even a healthy person would use it more than once (if that), let alone someone with a neurological condition. My contract said I’d work with patient data and collaborate with big-name hospitals. The company can barely run a basic user testing session without compromising the results, let alone handle clinical trials. Obviously, none of what was promised in the contract actually happened. And then there’s how they treat people. They take advantage of international hires, using visa pressure to control them while underpaying and overworking them. Be very very careful with these people! They have no shame stating: “Work 12 hours a day or you won’t be paid.” They also ended my contract early without honoring the notice period, knowing I didn’t have the time or resources to pursue it legally. I was initially hopeful because a few academic names were involved, but once you engage with leadership in a disagreement, you quickly realize a disconnect between the affiliations they showcase and the professionalism you’d expect from those associations.
