Pros

I have been with the company for a little over two years at the point I am writing this review. During my time, I have worked on some of the most exciting tasks that often required a lot of creativity to get done. The number of things I learned has been unmatched by any other company that I worked on before. While it is indeed a lot of work and often there is a lot of stress, tasks here feel more like a problem I am curious to solve than annoying, repetitive work. Colleagues are also highly motivated, which creates an almost addictive atmosphere of getting things done together. - A lot of the most exciting tasks I have ever worked at - Fast access to new tools with almost no buerocracy - A lot of creativity (more than any other job I have worked at before) - Extreme commitment of the leadership - Exciting collaborations - Highly motivated and hardworking team

Cons

- A lot of work (although most of the time work is very exciting) and stress

Pros

MyelinZ is a genuinely mission-driven company working on a hard, meaningful problem in brain and body health. As a software engineer, you get a lot of ownership and the chance to ship real product quickly, with exposure to a broad tech stack (mobile, backend, data, and sometimes ML/biometrics depending on the role). The team is ambitious, collaborative, and open to new ideas, and you learn a lot simply by being close to the product and users. If you enjoy early-stage environments, you’ll find the work energising and the pace exciting.

Cons

As with most early-stage startups, priorities can shift quickly, and some processes are still being built. Timelines can be aggressive, and you may need to context-switch across tasks. Workload is very intense, so it's not ideal if you prefer a slower pace or very structured corporate processes.

Pros

The teammates were very helpful and passionate,

Cons

The hiring process dragged on for three months, only for me to be brought on as an intern working full-time hours for less than half the minimum wage (with 20% going to transport costs). I was promised a balance between game development and neuroscience learning, but in reality, I was given unrealistic demands with zero guidance or mentorship. Despite being an unpaid/underpaid intern, I was expected to produce results as if I were a full-time employee. In my last one-on-one meeting, I was told to "rethink if this position was what I wanted"—as if I had any real support or opportunities to succeed. I was also told that even Senior Developers were earning barely livable wages while working 10-hour days, which speaks volumes about how little this company values its employees. This was not an internship—it was an exploitative setup that offered no real learning opportunities, just labor for cheap. The company recently changed its name from Myelin-H to MyelinZ, but a name change won’t fix a toxic work culture that treats interns and employees as disposable. If you're looking for a workplace that respects your time, effort, and growth, look elsewhere.
