Pros

Working in corporate, NAPA doesn't FEEL like its corporate most of the time. Despite being a massive, international company, it honestly feels like working with a nice, mid-sized company where you're on a first name basis with most of your coworkers. Everyone I've worked with has been incredibly friendly, receptive, and accommodating. Salary, benefits, and perks are all good (not great mind you, but definitely good for the area and time). There's a ton of support systems in place for employees and they provide us with actually good (and free) meals as of this writing. It doesn't hurt too that being in the auto industry, there's pretty strong job security.

Cons

Leadership at the executive level is just frankly out of touch. I don't believe it's malicious or nefarious in nature, but the fact that most of these people started by working in the field and have ideas about business that are fresh out of the 80s is something that really needs to change. A "simple, handshake agreement" doesn't really fly anymore. While the field has incredibly valuable insights, it often drives decision making in frankly bizarre ways. What one store says in the middle of rural Kansas or what one store in the heart of NYC says is working or not shouldn't be end-all-be-all or the basis for your wide-scale, international strategies.

Pros

The hours are great compared to Autozone or O’reilly, the pay is much better compared to other auto parts retailers too. Anyone who complains about Napa Auot Parts doesn’t know what it’s like to work for their competitors. Unless you work for independent Napas I know their pay is different from corporate but I feel like this company actually cares about their employees and treats them fairly in regards to pay, and working here is much better and has a better work life balance compared to other retailers which is a plus. I can see myself making this a career and staying long term I love my job and what I do.

Cons

Tams sucks and catalog sucks, thats literally my only complaint about this company they need to upgrade the whole system and the way they do inventory and everything with regards to technology.

Pros

At the time of writing, I have worked for Napa for 9 years. I can say with a great deal of experience that the fellow employees will make your day. Easy people to work with all around. Something about the shared struggle of working for NAPA will really bring a group of folks together. Customers who come into a NAPA come for a reason. I find this to be a much different experience from other auto parts stores. Customers know what they are talking about, and that makes the job all the easier. Hours are consistent almost to a fault, but you will ceratily get at least your 40 hours.

Cons

When I first started with NAPA, they genuinely cared about their employees(gift cards on bday, anniversary lunch, anniversary gift, holiday bonuses, company-wide holiday parties). That is all gone. All management you will have personal contact with has ZERO authority to do ANYTHING. Do not expect a merit-based raise, or even a yearly raise(no raises in 2 years despite $2.3B in net profit for 2025). It seems to take an act of god to fire employees who literally do not do their job. DO NOT CLIMB THE LADDER. The higher you get in this company, the more you will regret it.
