Pros

There are a handful of smart and creative people, but none of them are in charge

Cons

Pay is criminally low for most positions (without a "Director" or "VP" title, anyway) - 20%-30% below market average for most positions, especially if you work in any kind of creative field. Supervisors and department leaders are completely powerless (and most of them couldn't affect a change to their shoes let alone a positive change for their departments). They are only worried about keeping their own jobs, and if you bring legitimate issues to them, they will do absolutely nothing to fix them while using it to keep you from getting ahead or even exploring careers in other departments. Don't ever believe anyone there who says "we promote from within" - it doesn't happen in most departments, and it doesn't happen at all in certain departments. Also never believe that "we're a growing company" - sure, incompetent leaders will get promoted (probably in the third or fourth quarter), but real employees who actually do real work will get laid off or fired before June. There is virtually NO HOPE that you will get a raise or promotion. Most employees could spend 10+ years in the company and barely make enough to afford rent, let alone get a chance to get ahead. Marketing department has gone through 5+ leadership changes in a decade, with the situation getting worse each and every time for anybody who actually does real work or produces anything. Unless you spend your whole life kissing @$$ and attending meetings, you have absolutely no chance of making a career in this location/organization. Employee contributions are completely ignored, because upper management or leadership (who have nothing to do with them) will take all the credit (and all the bonus money and promotions that come with them). You could give them a billion-dollar idea and you'll get fired while some empty suit gets a six-figure salary and a corner office. The most incompetent employees are somehow the ones who are bonus eligible, while another department or team is actually cleaning up their messes and keeping the projects moving forward. And you can be certain that this division will only be called "NBC Sports Next" for another year or two before they try yet another pointless "rebranding" to hide the situation on the ground and reviews just like this one.

Pros

Growing business and opportunities within NBCU

Cons

Felt like the stepchild of NBCU, cool to have the name, but slowed down processes.
