Pros

Being a family owned company, the owner truly cares about his employees and their best interests. In this day and age, that's not always so. It's nice not to work for some absent CEO who doesn't even know your name. The owner is always present, working along side us.

Cons

As the company grows, there are always growing pains. But I have confidence in the owner that he's taking the necessary steps to mitigate the issues as they arise.

Pros

It’s great to work for an owner and established upper management that truly cares about the employees both on a personal level and help you develop professionally. The values and family atmosphere is not just another marketing campaign you hear horror stories about like other companies in the industry. There’s really no dumb questions and a lot of transparency all you have to do is ask.

Cons

There isn’t always a standard operating procedure for certain aspects within the team. Which isn’t always a huge con because it offers generous flexibility and opportunity to see various tasks from a different perspective. However when issues do arise it seems to create more conflict and divides the team.

Pros

Because it is a small company, there were many opportunities to be involved and to learn additional aspects of construction. Everyone works hard and the finished product is always high quality. Owners are loyal with their subcontractors and have a good amount of industry experience.

Cons

Nobody's word is worth much...often one thing said is later excused as being only a suggestion or reference point. Loyalty also doesn't extend to the employees...owners believe everyone can be replaced by someone cheaper and often seem to look for ways to cut corners in order to make their margin. Environment was often hostile.
