Pros

Great people. Great work ethics. Great ideas. People work very hard to find better, smarter ways to work. A small but great IT department that can take any and all ideas and make them a reality.

Cons

CEO micro manages. Senior management is afraid to make suggestions for change. Too many projects are started and abandoned before they have time to take off, which is frustrating to all.

My time at NEJ was a disaster. The owner creates a toxic, dysfunctional environment and thrives on conflict, often pitting employees against each other. The Finance team has constant turnover because of how employees are treated by the owner and his family. Money is shuffled between entities to selectively pay certain invoices while other vendors wait months to get paid. It’s chaotic and irresponsible. Bonuses are a joke. Raises are nonexistent. If you ask about fair compensation, management makes your life difficult until you either quit or get pushed out. Employees are underpaid, overworked, and undervalued. The company avoids any kind of positive culture. Even basic gatherings for holidays or birthdays are discouraged. There are hundreds of temps brought in through agencies, seemingly to bypass regulations, and they are heavily taken advantage of. If you’re comfortable working in a dysfunctional, high-turnover, conflict-driven environment where you’re treated like a tool instead of a professional, this is the place for you.
