Pros
Great bunch of people, which made my tenure at NEXTDC very memorable. I enjoyed my time at NEXTDC, great business with some amazing people.
Cons
There’s a noticeable culture of micromanagement, and at times it feels like the organisation’s stated values aren’t consistently reflected in day-to-day actions. This disconnect can make it difficult for people to fully trust and engage with those values.
There also seems to be a strong silo mentality across teams, which limits collaboration and makes it harder to deliver the best outcomes for customers.
It feels like the current exec leadership approach hasn’t quite kept pace with where the organisation is headed. NEXTDC is in a great position to do some truly exciting things, but exec leadership practices are becoming a key constraint on that potential.
For real and lasting change to happen, it needs to start at the top. Without strong, visible leadership driving a more modern, growth-focused mindset, it’s challenging for meaningful change to take hold across the organisation. This may also require a refresh at the CXO level to ensure the organisation has the leadership capability and perspective needed to deliver the change required.
