Pros

No positive feedback can be given about this company.

Cons

The management is horrible and treat employees not as real people. No lunch breaks and left to clean and take care of everything that should be taken care of by management. All the materials are stuffed into bins and teachers are left to sort out everything without getting paid for extra labor everyday. Teachers are also expected to take a bunch of young children outside with no extra supervision. NYC is very dangerous. When you ask to get some breaks throughout the day you get the response: figure it out on your own

Hello! Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we are so sorry to hear you had a frustrating experience. Each campsite is required to make sure every teacher takes a 30-minute lunch break, and all outdoor group(s) have a student:teacher ratio that is well below the guidelines set by DOH as an additional layer of precaution. Classroom organization at the beginning and end of day ensures teachers have their supplies to ensure a smooth camp experience and has always been compensated. For example, this summer, every teacher is receiving additional 2.5 hours paid preparation time each day. We would really appreciate if you would reach out to our Education manager and share your experience to help us make it right. We greatly appreciate your feedback to help us improve our teacher support. Thank you.

Pros

I’ve worked at a few different camps, and NORY is by far the best run. The curriculum is genuinely fun to teach. It focuses on stem building, so you never feel like you're just babysitting. You get to lead real, hands-on engineering and robotics projects that the kids are excited about. I also love the culture here. teachers and kids celebrate "awesome mistaeks" and value empathy. They actually care. those values creates a real positive environment.

Cons

To be completely real you are expected to bring 100% positive energy to the camp every day. it's not a camp whre you can be on your phone and chill (i have been many of those). Also because it's so hands-on, things move fast. You have to be quick and savvy with tinkering.
