Pros
Benefits are excellent - group insurance from Great Eastern (in Singapore) ensures that employees are covered really well. Dental benefits, full accident coverage, hospitalization, the works. Opportunities are also found quite easily, enabling you to gain large amounts of experience in what you want to do. Also, working hours are quite stable and work-life balance in NOV is strong!
Cons
The environment can be quite overwhelming if you let yourself be taken in with the issues and problems of now - the culture is as such. One needs to push oneself OUT of the fire to forecast and find ways to solve them - something which is difficult to do due to the culture. You might be ostracized for doing so, so political game needs to be strong to gain the trust of management for you to solve recurring issues.
