Pros

I enjoy the type of work and guys I work with. Great line leads.

Cons

I am a machine operator. NOV bought our our previous company R&M. Since they bought our company 3 years ago, they have not given any raises. We use to volunteer for the weekend s and always had plenty for the shift, It is now mandatory to come in every weekend. We have 1-2days off each month. The last several weekends they didn't have any work for us so we swept the floor Saturday and Sunday for our entire shift. So they have us come in even when they don't have work for us to do. Managers and office personnel receive their weekends and holidays off. Personnel that work in the shop work all holidays. This is not a place to work if you enjoy spending time with your family. No pay increases, and only 1 - 2 day off work each month even when they don't have any work. When they give us a day off like Thanksgiving, they wait until the end of your shift the night before the holiday. So you can't ever make plans. This year I sent my wife to have Thanksgiving with our family since I though I had to work. I would have enjoyed being with my family had I known I had that day off. New hires now come from a temp agency and make more than veteran employee's that have been there for more than 5 yrs. It does not pay to have loyalty to this company. I enjoy the job and the type of work. This job is better suited to a single person that does not have a family or someone who doesn't want to do anything other than work. They also. As employee's move up to other positions they are not given raises, just more responsibilities.
