NSIP Law Response

NSIP Law is a prospering boutique intellectual property law firm located in downtown Washington, D.C. Our practice has steadily grown over the years. NSIP Law offers a competitive salary with the rare opportunity to grow along with our practice. We value highly driven team players, motivated to provide top-quality work products for the firm and the firm’s fortune 500 clients. We also value a balanced life style for our members. The firm on occasion is faced with a difficult decision to let go one of its members. Often this is based on incidents, including, but not limited to, a negative client feedback and lack of production numbers. However, the firm provides our members monthly feedback along with a fair number of warnings before a decision is made to terminate the relationship. We regret to hear the reviewer above felt that advance notice was not provided before the termination. The firm respectfully disagrees but the reviewer is entitled to his/her opinion. The firm, however, wishes to set the record straight about the reviewer’s misleading statement that the firm lays off “at least one Associate almost every quarter.” The reviewer is being less than honest with this statement. This is obvious based on the admission by the reviewer of being employed less than a year. This is also why the reviewer appears to have inserted the word “almost” in his/her statement to hide not knowing the fact. NSIP Law is proud of our low turn-around rate compared to some of the other law firms in the greater Washington, D.C. area. Those interested in joining the firm are advised to submit their inquiries in confidence in response to the next hiring ads.

Pros

Unlike the below reviews, I believe I have benefited from my time here, so I thought I would post. I came to the firm with a little experience, but the people and management I work with are helpful and generous with respect to their time, and I’ve been given more independence and responsibility as I gain more experience. I’ve learned a lot, and also have gained a better understanding of some of the bigger picture things the attorneys deal with and consider. The benefits seem comparable to other DC firms. I’ve also made friends here, and the partners make efforts to keep things flexible and friendly around the office, which makes doing my job a lot easier and more fulfilling. I actually look forward to each day.

Cons

Honestly, in my experience here, if you are a reasonable and easy to get along person you won’t have any issues or concerns that won’t be considered and addressed by management. So I don’t have any real cons.

Pros

Great work environment with wonderful people to work with! Everyone gets along with everyone. I loved working here.

Cons

You are greatly underpaid, especially to be working/living in the DC-area! There is no HR department, everything goes through senior partner attorney's.
