Pros

- Very relaxed management, they don't care where you work as long as you get the job done, which helps those with families. - Great benefits. - The BBQ's they put on is fantastic - very approachable management

Cons

- Multiple office locations makes it hard to communicate/collaborate with certain departments. But from what I've been told from management, this will be fixed in a few months (maybe a year?) when all the leases expire and all the locations will move into one central location. - Odd working hours (you start late and finish late), really takes away your evenings which puts strain on your mental health after a few months when the realization hits that you don't have a life anymore outside of 2 hours in the evening. - Being a startup company the need for extra work from all the employees leads to a culture of burnout acceptance, no one wants to talk about it because if you do you get shamed, everyone wears it like a badge of honour replying with a shoulder shrug, quick glance to the floor and saying "meh, doesn't bother me, I can keep going". I don't think the people actually like these hours either, it's just how the culture has evolved on its own and it's also due to how the company is juuuuuust barely staffed, and how everyone has so much work on their plates that if someone gets sick or quits the amount of work that needs to be done really piles up. I understand this is a decision by the board, but come on, hire a few more people to lighten the load and productivity will increase. - No RRSP program, which is actually understandable considering that this is a startup company and there is a plan to have one in the future. However, people need a long-term incentive to care about their jobs, so they award options, which is FANTASTIC, we're bought into the company and now care about their success, however the issue is how long it will be before those options are worth anything, there isn't a lot of room for career growth and the majority of people won't stay for more than 1-2 years. So the awarded options mean nothing to the staff and therefore their jobs are just there to collect paycheques which leads to low engagement from staff. Get one of the accounting team to figure out something to help keep non-finance people engaged. - Culture clash, lots of acquisitions in the past have the prior employees not really integrating in with the Nanalysis employees/culture, this has led to a lot going behind your backs, bullying, insults, and just childish behaviour. I talked with management about it, they are aware, but seems like nothing was being done, they let these adults resist direction, they constantly blame others, dump their work on others, pretend they don't know anything when they're the manager of their department. It's a circus.

No raises No bonuses No recognition No transparency Dishonesty from management Very arrogant upper management High egos from people unqualified for their roles Terrible planning When company starts losing money due to terrible decisions made by upper management, they layoff 15+ people to make up the loss Made us work lots of overtime with no compensation Believes everyone is easily replaceable CEO This is the tip of the iceberg, I could go on but then there'd be too many points
