Good pay, bad company. - Mental Health Clinician NaphCare Employee Review

Pros

Pay was good for social work

Cons

Geared around medical staff, not well set up for mental health staff. Bizarrely strict about insisting mental health staff come in during e.g. city emergencies when the roads were supposed to be closed, despite us obviously not actually being essential staff (i.e. we weren't there on Sundays). As with most parts of the correctional system, not geared toward good service for clients/patients. Lack of attention to worker rights (e.g. telling us we couldn't discuss salaries with each other, which is in fact a legal right, then only being willing to discuss it by phone during daytime business hours when I worked evenings.)

Pros

Great culture, great benefits including free prescriptions, and competitive pay. The workload keeps you engaged but isn't so much that you feel overwhelmed. NaphCare is a great place to work.

Cons

I don't have any cons about working at NaphCare
