Pros
1.) Despite the cons below, parts of the culture are positive (e.g. diversity and inclusion and talent programmes). 2.) It wouldn't be fair to judge all senior leaders in the same light - some are good. 3.) The bank is also more open to innovation and growth, which is welcome.
Cons
1.) Pay below market, including at senior levels (despite strong financial perfomance) 2.) Slow senior decision making and bureaucratic culture frequently block progress 3.) Slow, unreliable tech makes delivering results a challenge on a daily basis 4.) Implausibly, despite frequent job cuts (which have destroyed morale at lower/mid grades), there's still a culture of people employed for 20+ years who aren't motivated but are simply 'waiting for a cheque' 5.) Struggle to attract quality external talent - in part due to the points above 6.) Internal career mobility is taken to the extreme - people can move freely into roles for which they lack experience (leading to wider issues) 7.) Recent changes to the group behaviours have unfortunately replaced clarity with confusion 8.) The business has quietly reversed its position on fossil fuels and generally appears to be weakening its previously strong commitment to ESG 9.) Cliques dominate over competence in parts of the organisation 10.) Certain senior leaders are more 'about them' than committed to driving the organisation forward and don't role model the right behaviours 11.) Despite being in a 'senior leader' role myself, autonomy is limited 12.) Return to office mandate is illogical (e.g. Mon/Fri requirement)
