Pros
- A lot of very talented people worked there - The mission of the organization is necessary and helpful - I believe the CEO means well
Cons
Working with NDTC was one of the most disappointing professional experiences of my life. The C-Suite hides behind a front of progressive ideals but in reality, the organization lacks any degree of transparency or equity. My time there was littered with racial discrimination, blatant tokenism, sexual misconduct, pay inequity, poor management, and general incompetence. A few years ago this was a good company, but leadership tried to scale up in a way that was not sustainable or even realistic, resulting in nothing but chaos. Talented people left when it became clear that there was no room for growth and so people lacking leadership skills & political experience ended up in management positions. My experience with the company over the past year was just a rapid downward spiral where extreme problems were left ignored and good people were let go for speaking up or asking questions. I was laid off along with a quarter of the staff because fundraising is so poor, and there is no clear path toward restabilization or growth. If the company makes it another five years I would be absolutely shocked.
