Pros

I have already had many opportunities for personal growth and to experience many aspects of the business since beginning my graduate scheme in September. These opportunities have included site visits to expand my knowledge on what National Gas do and a tailored personal development residential where we explored our roles and personalities within teams. Since joining everybody has been very welcoming, taking the time out of their days for introductions and support. I am still learning about all of the different areas of the business and it is very interesting to hear about the variety of work being carried out. I am especially looking forward to my future two 6 month placements which will allow me to broaden my knowledge and expertise.

Cons

Due to the company being quite large, it took me longer to get my head around the structure and what the teams do. But as I said before everybody is very happy to speak to you and offer insight into what they do which made this process a lot easier.

Cons

* Limited onboarding and induction within the Commercial & Supply Chain team. * Lack of clarity around roles, responsibilities and expectations. * Insufficient access to systems, processes and project information during the early stages of employment. * Role experienced in practice did not fully align with expectations set during recruitment. * Limited structured support, feedback and development discussions. * Communication and knowledge sharing could be improved. * Career progression pathways were not always clear. * Some projects lacked established commercial processes or clear ownership. * Employee concerns could be addressed more proactively rather than reactively.
