Pros

Co-workers are generally nice. The work is interesting and a good place to gain experience. Since Stagwell's acquisition of the company from Nielsen, there have been a lot improvements to infrastructure and resources. Vision for the company is promising despite no real unified road map to get there by all departments.

Cons

Culture has a very exclusive atmosphere where individuals need to be chosen to succeed to actually be given a chance to succeed since hard work, with all things equal, isn't equally recognized. Very clique-y social environment. A lot of people from the new CEO's previous company came to work here and they have hardly made an effort to reach out of their preexisting social circles and merge with preexisting teams. "Team"-feeling is nonexistent since some departments being treated better than others. Some employees also choose to not speak in English in the work place so they can talk poorly about other staff when they don't think anyone else can understand them or exclude others from conversations. This would be less of an issue if the company was bigger and had more employees but when there's usually less than 50 people in the office, this fosters an unwelcoming toxic work environment. Poor management skills by senior staff. They know how to do more than lead which often leads to bottlenecks where nothing can get done. The need to "manage" senior staff who say they want an open environment but you actually need to walk on eggshells so you're discouraged from being entirely honest.

National Research Group Response
7y
Thank you for your response. There are always challenges when you merge two cultures together. The intent was never to make anyone feel that their ideas are not important or welcome. We’ve implemented several cultural initiatives to bring employees together and create a unified culture and are committed to continuing to work on improving company culture.
