Pros

Easy to get hired, friendly coworkers. Plenty of time devoted to training, but quality of the training was lacking.

Cons

First of all, I felt like this was a bait and switch experience. I applied for an underwriter trainee position, but the manager that called me said that I "would be better suited for a customer service position" Stupidly, I accepted. But I have to wonder if they post this fake position because they know that people wouldn't normally apply to a customer service position. I went through the training program for Customer Service. Plenty of time was devoted to training, but the training was ineffective. There were 4 of us in training at the same time, but it wasn't set up so all 4 of us could learn concepts at the same time (for example: No overhead projections that everyone could follow at the same time) The trainer just went to each trainee's computer and showed them what to do, which isn't helpful when I couldn't see what they were discussing since their computer was 20 feet away. I suggested having some sort of overhead projection so everyone could learn at the same time, but the trainer didn't know how to set that up. I wanted to learn their workflows but just wasn't given the opportunity with the poor training. When I went out on the floor with all the customer service people, I was given the impression that there was an oppressive atmosphere where you had to be at your desk all the time and if you did get up you had to explain why you got up from your desk.

Culture is great, it feels like working with family. I have a good work life balance.

Cons

The pay could be a lot better as the world gets more expensive our pay should reflect that.
