Pros
I no longer work here.
Cons
Where to even start? I have worked for several companies in my career and never had a desire to provide a review about a company on Glassdoor positive or negative. BUT Navan has changed that. I feel I have a moral obligation to warn people about this company to clear my own conscience. The CEO is an ego maniac. He is ruthless and does not care at all about employees. Berates, curses and shouts as people. It's just a given now that's the behaviour people have to accept. Literally every week plans change in here be it in sales, recruiting, the product itself, office locations and every decision this lunatic makes has massive impacts on its employees which he simply does not care about. C-Suite leadership (what's left of them) are not leaders. They are all yes men/women to whatever CEO decides. Leadership is SO poor in this company and it shows. Every team across the company is suffering with high attrition and low moral. So many of the senior leadership have been sacked by CEO or left because they have had enough. For ex the CFO hired to bring company through IPO resigned as he had simply had enough. CRO I honestly don't know how he even got the job never mind the fact he is still in it. Global sales team have no faith in him, teams missing targets, suffering high attrition and strategies change as often as the weather. Making it up as he goes along. Joining the company I was informed of IPO late 2022 - did not happen. Start of 2023 employees were informed it will happen in the summer - it did not happen. Before I resigned we were being informed it will happen mid 2024. Based on missing sales targets and economic environment I seriously doubt this will happen any time soon. If you get offered a position here with a lot of stock options as part of your package remember: You have to somehow last 4 years here to vest all that stock and the company has to IPO! Negotiate hard on base salary as your stock what they sell you it will be worth in reality won't be worth that much. Already suffering with high attrition a mass exodus is in the horizon. So many people in here are miserable but are sticking it out as the job market is not great. Once things turn around so many people will leave the company. Do not care about culture. Cancelled bi annual feedback survey for employees to give feedback about the company. It's the CEO's way or the highway. This will never change. Their only concern is the negative feedback employees are posting on Glassdoor and to counter it, they are asking new employees to post positive reviews who have no clue yet what this company is like. HR team is under staffed and not qualified to do the job they need to do. Very junior and are simply out of their depth to address to massive concerns employees are raising to them. Bullying cases, mental health of employees, unfair dismissals cases are stacking up week on week and NOTHING is being done about it and so employees are just leaving hence the high attrition Navan is suffering with. Globally a high number of silent layoffs are happening - particularly in HR, recruitment, finance and administrative positions. Technical hiring has been on a freeze for a number of months now too.
