Would not recommend even to my worst enemy - Manager Neighborly® Employee Review

Pros

Remote work. Some extremely dedicated, hard-working people who unfortunately get taken advantage of.

Cons

I cannot speak for the entire company, but the marketing department is one of the most miserable work environments I've encountered in my career. Toxic management has almost single-handedly destroyed team morale over the past couple of years. Intense workloads perpetuate a cycle of burnout among high-performing team members, while underperforming employees are enabled by managers and need constant handholding to carry out basic tasks. Projects are often chaotic due to poor communication and an absence of any real leadership. Priorities are poorly defined and change constantly. Team members will offer ideas and solutions that are either outright ignored or not acted upon by leadership. Expect to work unpaid overtime and weekends regardless of pay scale. Almost non-existent opportunities for internal advancement or promotion are dangled in front of employees like a carrot on a stick. There is no incentive to go above and beyond since hard work is only rewarded with empty platitudes. Management is clueless and will expect you to do the work of 2-3 people without any consideration for your job description. The company claims to operate under a Code of Values that employees recite during every meeting but amounts to nothing in practice. Women and POC are frequently talked over and dismissed by male colleagues during meetings. Senior leadership uses accusatory language to intimidate and silence the people who work below them rather than address feedback. HR does not listen to or act upon employees’ concerns despite multiple complaints. Aside from operational issues, salaries are below average and benefits are not great. Among the most egregious examples of this is the fact that Neighborly boasts about hiring veterans, yet doesn't provide employees with PTO on Veteran's Day (until very recently, and only if you're a veteran). Bottom line: this is not a company that values its employees.
