Pros

- Unlimited PTO - Great people that come and go?

Cons

- First, I think the reviews here were planted by the co-founders anointed favorites. They seem fake. - I remember reading some negative reviews here 2 years ago, but they were mysteriously deleted. - the co-founders talked a big game but my experience was that the company went from one failure to the next - I found that the co-founders have 3 anointed favorites that operate like a firm within a firm. they acted like everyone is there to serve them. - I found that one of the anointed favorites had free reign to be a toxic bully. A bunch of us former employees have exchanged screenshots of all of the inappropriate things he sent on slack. He also had a drinking problem that interfered with his work. The company and HR were all aware of this but did nothing. - I was annoyed by the lack of strategy and how priorities quickly changed on a whim. It doesn't help that the co-founders never seemed to agree on anything. - The co-founders interfere with things they have no experience with. like the ceo is a sales guy that manages the engineers. No wonder all the good engineers left. - I had serious ethical concerns about the way in which I was pushed to represent the firm. - I thought the coo was very arrogant and all of his relationships within the firm seemed to deteriorate quickly unless you were his patsy and align with his bro code. He insulated himself with unqualified people that he could push around. Others he quickly pushed out of the firm. - Spoiler alert!! The turnover was VERY HIGH. I felt there was little regard for employees as people or professionals. A lot of high character people left. - Lastly, the company doesn't make any money and the check was in the mail for funding for as long as I was there. I hear they are still waiting on it...

Pros

Really down to earth people who are willing to invest in younger interns; great culture, great learning opportunity

Cons

A little tight on desk space, but that's always a good sign as well

Pros

Nepfin's a unique buy-side shop - has both a credit investing group and product development team building a proprietary fintech platform to service lower middle market private equity and debt shops. Given this structure, management maintains a start-up culture: * No archaic finance practices such as face-time or otherwise * Increasing tech start-up benefits (use your imagination ;) * Open-minded teams receptive to feedback from all levels / management takes actionable steps towards improving the work environment

Cons

It's a start-up. While the founders are extremely tenured (so deal flow is quite good even without additional origination efforts), the environment still requires independent, self-starters. For example, we have no staffer - teams are small, so you have to be responsible for taking on and completing deals

Thanks for your review! We definitely agree -- self-starters thrive in this environment!
