Pros

telehealth can be done anywhere

Cons

1)They advertise "schedule flexibility" but this is not the case. Once they set your schedule you cannot change it without being shamed or having to explain your life story. 2) the pay is insulting. It's only okay (in my case) if this is for extra cash and not your main job. They also offer no benefits. 3) They micromanage your whole day down to the minute. Literally if you are not in consults all day back to back then you are told to fill out a form detailing every minute you are doing something other then consults 4) all consults are 30 minutes long even though they are sold to patients as 60 minutes. It's 30 min consults and 30 minute charting. If the patient doesn't need a 30 minute consult you will get in trouble if you do not keep them on the call for at least 30 minutes. But you will also get in trouble if the consults are longer than 30 minutes. 5) you are in constant chart review. If you try to add some autonomy to the way you consult parents or chart you will get "dinged" on your chart review which will eventually lead to a warning then termination. There is no room for autonomy. They prefer you to be a robot. 6) you have to force parents to make follow up appointments even if they do not want them. I do not know 100% but I think they are counting on them to forget about the appointments so they can charge them the $200 cancelation fee which is not fair. Parents should have some autonomy as well. 7) you will have meetings with your supervisor 1-2x/ month where they will compare you to percentages and other consultants. not much positive comes out of these meetings. I have never stepped away from these meetings feeling like I gained anything positive to take on the next consult. I was quite stressed about these meetings and loathed attending them. I was always happy if I had a consult and couldn't attend. 8) they hold meetings/ team building outside of your normal working hours and will get upset if you do not show to these meetings..... even though they are on days where you are not scheduled to work at all. Keep in mind your hours/ work days are set in stone so they KNOW you cannot work during these times. 9) they stack your consultations back to to back. If you work 10 hour shift you have 10 consults. period.

Pros

Love being able to help so many families. Really feels like a collaborative team, which is rare for a WFH position. Leadership is responsive and supportive.

Cons

Days can be super busy seeing a lot of patients, which might take some getting used to.

Pros

Helping families in need of lactation care with telehealth

Cons

Nest has constant turn over, with IBCLC's, management, CEO's etc. Nest does not value their IBCLC's. They are constantly making changes that create a negative experience for both the IBCLC's and the patients. The IBCLC's are told with very minimal warning about big changes in the way they are to care for their patients. 30 minutes is not enough time to provide needed care for new patients, so follow up appointments are strongly encouraged and you will be penalized if you have a low follow up rate. IBCLC's work hard to provide the best care under a huge time crunch with trying to review the history, care for the patient, and chart, before the next back to back appointments. All of this for the little pay. Your job is not safe at Nest. There are constant changes, and demands made, and if you are not a pushover or passive person, you will be forced to leave once you become aware of this behavior. Management does not have your back. It is all a fake facade. The IBCLC's however are amazing, and do a wonderful job. You will not get the respect, and pay that you deserve by working for Nest. The very rare and infrequent feedback that is requested is not addressed.
