Pros

Great employee benefits and amazing team (besides anyone who is family). Don’t think I would have made it as long if it weren’t for them.

Cons

Family owned - could work if they didn’t have an us against them mentality. Lack of trust- Due to previous experiences with former employees, senior leadership has a difficult time building trust with new employees. As a new employee you get the sense that you have to earn the family’s trust. Trust goes both ways. Unprofessional senior leadership - The CEO will chew you out in-front of others in meetings, rather than having a private/ respectful conversation. No clear direction and lack of communication - CEO and president (husband and wife) share different info with different people and employees don’t know who’s direction to take, causing unclear guidance, confusion, and staff will get in trouble because of this. Also the CEO is a rambler. You’ll leave a conversation with her even more confused. Job Instability - staff feel like they will be let go at any moment. They feel this way because it has happened many times and with zero clear reasoning or justification. A termination should never come as a surprise, so why is it always a surprise at new Deantronics? Emotionally/ mentally draining - dreaded coming into work everyday. You’re expect to have the same dedication to the company as the owners do, so if you believe in work life balance, this probably isn’t the place for you. This could be reasonable if there was reward for that, but you won’t get that here. One manager in particular - thinks everyone is out to get her, unprofessional, and insecure. If you think she doesn’t like you, she probably doesn’t. She is lacking the necessary communication to be in a people facing management role and has no previous HR experience, so I’m not sure why they don’t hire an actual hr manager, aside from nepotism, which is extremely blatant here. Summary: If you’re considering applying, just don’t

Pros

The building is beautiful and modern. The employees that don't have direct ties to the owner or the family are amazing.

Cons

If you do not have direct ties to the family, you are treated as an outsider. The CEO and President (wife and husband) believe they can run the US facility the same way they operate in Taiwan. They choose to ignore the fact that there are laws in the US that protect employees from many of the tactics that are used at New Deantronics. On two separate occasions the owner violated HIPAA law in front of several employees, revealing that an employee was selfish and not committed to their role because they chose to have a medical procedure performed at a time that was inconvenient to their plans for the company. During the past year, two HR professionals were hired but left their positions within several months, citing concerns about organizational practices and leadership. The owner's daughter oversees departments outside her expertise and has introduced policies that hinder their success. Then the employees are blamed for their lack of success. I would not recommend New Deantronics as a place of employment.
