Pros

Journeymen and foremen get to have a company vehicle to take home. Employees are quality workers and knowledgeable. Tight group of guys that enjoy working with each other. If not for the field employees, this rating would have 1 star.

Cons

Management. Never feel appreciated for the quality of work, long hours or travel that is needed. Management tries to change your hours on timecard without saying anything to you, hoping you don't notice. Not compensated well for traveling. When traveling, they expect 2 guys to a room. Benefits are average. Employees tend to avoid office so they do not have to deal with management. Even as a qualified worker, you feel as though you are not trusted. You have no say on how to do things. You do not know where you are going the next day until the night before, but are expected to provide one months notice for a day off. Inventory system is a nightmare. Very high employee turn around. People of value within the company see what is going on, bring up the issues to management and nothing changes. Their philosophy is that it's easier to change employees than change their management ways.

Pros

Got my own room when traveling and 40 a day per diem. Lots of hours. They supply uniforms and a bag full of ppe and lockout tag outs and medical kit. Decent pay. Suppose to assign a drill set. apparently showing up late everyday isn't a big deal.

Cons

Never got a drill set or door key. Employees often showed up late. I was always on timeor early and with no door key to the shop would mean I'm stuck waiting. They allow dangerous working conditions. One place had hydraulic fluid all over the floor where we were working making ladders very dangerous as well as they had a five gallon Gatorade jug of water sitting on top of a 480v transformer. How large could the explosion really be? Not like anyone couldslip on all that hydraulic fluid everywhere. Or let's work in a sewer drain with live 480 that can't be shut off while it's down pouring rain. Had a Forman forget to shut off a 480v disco causing a near whoops on a journeyman. Later caught that Forman getting high on break. Got fired for accusations after catching Forman getting high. No communication from the office schedulers. Someguys wouldn't know where they were working until the night before. When payrolls messed up you'll be fighting for over a month to get it right. Pay is every 2weeks.
