Pros
There are some good folks that make this generally hostile work environment tolerable. The bonuses help compensate for some of the overly regulated, big brother feel of this outfit. Without the annual bonus this outfit wouldn't deserve 1 star.
Cons
Where to start. There are too many YES MEN AND WOMEN especially in middle management. They're parrots and it's pathetic! There's too much micro management and too many poor decisions to waste money on over-regulation instead of focusing on their employees. They bend over to the useless government bureacracy called MSHA - an organization that does not help the Mining industry as it should - too much petty fining and inconsistency from one inspector to another and sometimes with the same inspector(s). Also, Newmont has spent too much money on a pathetic, off shore IT Oursourcing company called Infosys with little to show for their services and causing poor user satisfaction with the IT infrastructure as a whole - a complete waste of time and services that should've been spent in house to find and hire the talent needed to keep these services in the U.S.A. and in house!
