Pros
Really lovely colleagues (below senior management level).
Cons
After almost 30 years in journalism, Newsweek made me wish I'd pursued a career at McDonald's. The most chaotic place i have ever worked. Changes in editorial direction seem to happen on total whims and reporters and editors bear the brunt of two particularly clueless and inexperienced bosses' attempts to paper over the huge cracks they alone are at fault for creating. There is a slavish devotion to apps that don't work and the most bog-standard version of AI available is used to create garbage articles. Oh, and they sack people in an almost "throw him to the lions" manner. I was very excited to have joined such a storied title, only to find out that it was run by complete and utter incompetents (who talk a good game). If you're considering a job there, stop considering. Flipping burgers at a Macca Ds at an M6 services will be more rewarding.
