Pros

NextFab is a great studio to hone your skills at. The amount one can learn from the technical staff is abundant. The chance to learn from the people who have been running high tech machines (cnc routers, 3d printers, lasers, electronics, etc) for years is not able to be found in any other single place. The opportunity the facility gives businesses as a physical co-working space allows the company to be more successful. Companies no longer have to purchase the machines, facility space or utility bills. They also have the ability to ask NextFab's staff questions when stricken with difficult machining or design issues. NextFab is about the community. One gets out what they put into it. If you are a person that is just in there to do your work and leave, that is what you will see. If you talk to the people around you, one may find themselves with a new project partner. You never know who you are standing next to and what ideas they have. It's a whirl pool of creativity.

Cons

It is a company that grew quickly in an industry that does not exist. The back end procedures may not always be smooth. There are no guidelines to follow for a company that does this type of work. With that said, they have moved very quickly to fix any issues they have or had.

Pros

Fun and energetic place to work. A lot of the staff is young and ambitious, making for a great environment. Many people willing to share their specific knowledge and help others grow. Upper management was always kind and easy to work with.

Cons

Really don't have much to say about any cons. I loved working here.

Pros

Very cool members and exposure to interesting projects and startup ventures. Free classes and access to the workshop equipment.

Cons

Upper management so far removed from the day to day operations, they have no idea what can be accomplished in a set amount of time with the number of people performing blended roles (more than one job.) Constantly shifting priorities due to a reactionary culture. There is no real business plan so all one can do is respond to shiny object syndrome thinking this new initiative is gonna change the whole outlook and finally make it a profitable company. Toxic leadership that insinuates you should be grateful for being offered a pay cut.
