Pros

- Provide you with resourceful tools that will help you in your career - You will learn about how DC actually works (for better or worse) - You can make good connections - Actually pay their interns - Great snacks

Cons

- Lack of transparency between management and staff - Restricted or lack of communication between different departments - Management will ignore good ideas by staff frequently - The goals seem to shift and many projects or ideas go to waste - There are times where staff or interns have been disrespected in a manner that is unprofessional. If there are events with leaders there is a heighten sense of tension that has led to disrespectful behavior towards staff - Management seldom listens to ideas that aren't there own - Office politics is very apparent - No real vision for an overall goal - The company's desire to not "ruffle feathers" means they almost never take a clear stance on anything - Responses to serious events or topics are tone deaf and do not address the problem

Pros

Not just about politics – it’s about bringing people together and trying to do things differently. Transparency about what’s happening and where things are headed. Clear initial training to help you get settled. Regular Zoom events and check-ins to keep everyone in the loop. Thoughtful, smart, and collaborative people. Overall, a great spot if you like taking initiative and being part of something bigger than yourself.

Cons

You’ll need to be comfortable figuring things out as you go.

Pros

You meet some good employees who are stuck here due to one reason or another.

Cons

Working here will test your patience extensively. The workload is high, but the worst thing is their attitude towards employees. Most of the people in power have a good complex and use their power in the wrong manner. Racist behavior, verbal abuse, and rudeness are daily occurrences. The more you tolerate, the more horrible the consequences will be. If you can't speak up when they are being abusive, you'd better quit and look for another job. Don't just take it all, as it will make them feel that they are right. This workplace also has some spineless people who are working hard to protect the reputation of the horrible employer by writing fake reviews. You can see a few 5-star ones and realize how similar they are. It's awful!
