Pros

Staff bonded over shared trauma

Cons

This is the most poorly run, dysfunctional and horrible workplace I’ve ever encountered. Please, do NOT work here. This company may appear cool from the outside but it’s an absolute shambles. Staff are paid minimum wage, and were not paid superannuation for over a year. When staff bought this up with management they were accused of lying. Staff are overworked and unsupported to the point of mental breakdowns. Clients are ALWAYS unhappy as the CEO is the king of overpromising and underdelivering; always thinking about the next ‘big thing’ for the agency before getting even basic processes right. Senior management play favourites, with only certain staff deemed ‘cool enough’ to be invited to Friday night drinks, while other staff are bullied, mistreated or fired. Save yourself the abuse and stay far away from this workplace.

Dear Reviewer, Firstly, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We’re sorry to hear that your experience with No Standing was a negative one. As with many small businesses during a global pandemic, there were multiple issues that arose that we weren’t prepared for and we have openly accepted that to our team members and implemented many new processes to ensure we are better prepared next time to not only offer support to our junior staff but also our management. As you would know, as Head of Operations, I have personally and continue to personally reach out to team members and offer support wherever possible and have always encouraged team members to speak up to either their Reporting Officer or myself, if they are ever struggling with work or personally. Harassment in the workplace is one that we have zero tolerance for and would be very quick to address if it is ever brought to our attention. We have not received any complaints to date around any form of bullying and harassment at No Standing however, I encourage you to please contact me if you would like to further discuss these issues, as this is definitely a concern and one we wish to address. ‘Friday night drinks’ and other weekly social events organised by team members are not considered No Standing social events, therefore we do not have control over the attendees, venue and actions of team members. Please note, that unless an event is communicated to all No Standing employees by Senior Management via email or our internal communications channel, it is not considered a Company event, and therefore No Standing does not accept responsibility for any part of the event. Regarding remuneration issues you have addressed, please contact me directly if you have any further questions or concerns. If we are aware of an issue, we have always been in touch with the team member directly and will continue to be in touch throughout the resolution process. As mentioned in previous communications, I am always available to discuss any of the above with you to ensure you feel comfortable, heard and valued by us. Thank you once again for your feedback. Best of luck with your future endeavours.

Pros

Talented team and interesting creative projects

Cons

There were chronic payment delays for both staff and contractors, often exceeding contractual deadlines by several weeks or even months. Leadership was uncommunicative and kept requesting work while outstanding invoices remained unpaid. They didn’t provide clear updates about payment delays, and inquiries were usually met with vague answers.

Pros

There's nothing positive about the company. They over promise and under deliver their clients.

Cons

They completely ghosted me and other contractors of the same project, no response from the CEO, from the accountable department, from HR, etc. We haven't been paid for months, and they initially acknowledged the debt, but after weeks went by they stopped answering and haven't paid us despite several "soon" promises. They also still have other projects ongoing where they do pay the staff, while letting the old ones without pay. Do not work with them if you value your work.
