The customer base for Nordson products is located world-wide. Nordson's company governance is one that focuses on the customers and employees, and has over time been focused on the long-term survival and prosperity of the company. In recent times it seems more like short-term stock price performance and strong revenue growth has taken the long-term approach to task. In general, Nordson is a good company to work for, and the brand name is held in high regard for product quality and performance.
Cons
Limited opportunity for advancement. The staff at Nordson is well qualified, but it is also run lean and at capacity. Someone has to leave before an advancement opportunity becomes available. And in most cases, they choose just to downsize by attrition. The company was at one time family owned with members of the Nord family holding the majority of stock. At the ownership of the company is not quite as clear. Stock market fluctuations, forcasts, projections and the bottom line have a growing and sometimes adverse affect on the way business is performed. The flames of innovation are quickly dwindling.
