      Pros

      I have felt so supported at North Star as my family has gone through challenges. I feel the default is for North Star leaders to handle situations where family and life need to come first with grace. Of course, like any workplace, the employee is responsible for not breaking that trust, but if a kid is sick or there is an extended family emergency, they do a really good job having your back. That is worth a lot in my book!

      Cons

      Advancement can take longer than some people want, but North Star does want you to grow, and it will happen if you work hard and prove yourself to be a person of character. Because of this, those in leadership are also equipped for the role and have the right experience to do their job well, which improves the life of employees at any level.

      Pros

      Super Supportive HR and Management Team. Home and family focused. Flexible Scheduling with the opportuniy to accommodate schedules and some work from home to support family needs. Team member support through annual appreciation events held almost monthly. A friendly and supportive environment. I feel my work has value and my contributions matter.

      Actually, Nothing comes to mind.

      As an independent advisor, you truly do have access to way more solutions that would culminate in a personalized financial plan experience for your clients.

      Cons

      As a whole, the organizations lean heavily on the "you're building your own business" mentality. Due to this, there is less direct training than some would find ideal
