Pros

Work-Life Balance: Northeast Color offers an excellent work-life balance. I found the flexibility and understanding regarding personal time to be a significant plus during my two years with the company. Coaching and Development: The coaching I received from my Business Development Manager was invaluable. Their mentorship and guidance helped me grow professionally and enhance my skills in business development. Company Culture: For the most part, the company culture at Northeast Color is positive. There is a strong sense of community, and colleagues are generally supportive of one another. Transparency from Leadership: I appreciated the transparency from the leadership team. They were open about the company's direction and challenges, which fostered a sense of trust and alignment within the organization. Benefits: We received additional good health insurance access at no additional cost as well as access to 401 k and life insurance policies

Cons

Limited Mobility: One of the drawbacks I experienced was the lack of mobility within the organization. Opportunities for advancement or lateral movement were limited, making it difficult to grow within the company. Interdepartmental Challenges: There were noticeable difficulties between the sales team and the product development/install and creative teams. The blame game often took precedence over collaborative problem-solving, which sometimes hindered the focus on customer benefits. IT and Administrative Red Tape: Dealing with the IT team often involved a lot of red tape, which could be frustrating. Additionally, despite being a small company, there were constant blocks and approvals required from higher-ups that slowed down processes and decision-making. Lack of Diversity: The company lacked diversity, particularly within the sales team, which was predominantly female except for leadership roles. This imbalance often led to the sales team being treated more like secretaries than valued professionals, impacting team morale and overall job satisfaction. Market Challenges and Layoff: I was disappointed to be laid off, but I understood it was due to competitive struggles within the current real estate market, affecting our franchise customers' ability to open new locations. This impacted our ability to bring on new clients and maintain a robust pipeline for current and potential clients.

Pros

I already posted a review here but I have a completely different take on the reasons for layoffs than another person who posted here.

Cons

I disagree with the person here who blamed the company layoffs on 'the real estate market'. That's simply not true. The reason was due to a total lack of diversification on the part of NC, as well as gross mismanagement by The CEO who is woefully unqualified for the job. Clients left and went to other vendors and the company was then in big trouble due to bad decisions on the part of management to attempt to grow too fast and over-extend financially. Management has blinders on and cannot see the big picture. Very bad decisions are made as a consequence of that. Layoffs were the result of their own poor judgement and lack of necessary business skills.
