Northern Nevada HOPES

Is this your company?

This company is more concerned with looking like they serve vulnerable populations than actually serving them. - Anonymous employee Northern Nevada HOPES Employee Review

Pros

Amazing benefits - enough to keep me there long past the point where I realized I was unhappy with my job.

Cons

Completely dysfunctional leadership team. The left hand doesn't want the right to know what it's doing. The CEO gives a big speech at new-hire onboarding about her history with homelessness and drug use. This is meant to inspire people and bring them down to earth about the mission. HOPES's CEO has lost that mission and forgotten where she came from. The company is not the same as it was when I first went to work for it. In addition to being an HIV clinic, they started out with a focus on improving the health and well-being of marginalized individuals in our community - people experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and addiction. Now, it seems as though leadership and marketing are more concerned with reporting success stories than actually providing the logistical support required to create them. Internal support for community outreach and other important projects is completely inadequate. Advancement opportunities within the organization are very difficult to come by.

Pros

Incredible passion and advocacy for the underserved. Excellent leadership.

Cons

Growth can be hard on staff. But we are increasing access for our patients! We will level out again.

Pros

Excellent service and care for both the patients and the staff. They put patients at a priority and treat them well. They also consider the well being of staff and make sure the staff are also taken care of. I've been a patient of Hopes for over 10 years and have always loved coming here. They do a lot of good in the community and have grown a lot since I started out as a new patient when the clinic was an old motel on 5th Street. Now there are 3 clinics and continuing to grow and do outreach.

Cons

None to give at the moment
