Pros

I have worked in so many different environments and in many different positions. Thus far, my experience with Northside has been nothing but the best. The work life balance is amazing, the employees are fantastic, and there is an overwhelming sense of compassion for the patients. I have had countless patients explain to me that Northside is the best place they've ever gone for medical treatment, and I completely understand why. As far as working here, I have compiled a few of the pro's into a list: -Wonderful benefits program -Fair, competitive pay -Beautiful Facilities -Great work environment -High employee moral -Opportunities for advancement -Yearly raises (with good marks on your yearly evals) -Satisfactory risk reduction programs -Competent HR/employee support -Emphasis on patient satisfaction (which is the most important thing if you are in healthcare for the right reasons) -Countless learning opportunities

Cons

There are very few issues I've seen from working here, mostly to do with timelines during the hiring process: -Onboarding process takes a while, but it isn't confusing or difficult to understand. If you have issues, there is ALWAYS someone to help. -Initial hiring process takes a while (but i promise that patience pays off!) -TONS of initial hire paperwork (staying organized is paramount)

Pros

I have been privileged to work for Northside Hospital for the past five years, and my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. During my tenure, I have benefited from the organization's commitment to employee growth through its annual internal promotion policy, which has allowed me to advance within my current department. One of the aspects I value most is Northside's support for work-life balance and professional development. While working here, I was able to begin my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program from the ground up and am on track to graduate in December 2026. The flexibility and encouragement provided by the organization have played a significant role in helping me pursue my educational goals while continuing to contribute as an employee. I was a full-time employee for most of my career with the organization and recently transitioned to part-time status to accommodate the increased demands of my nursing program. The support and understanding shown by management throughout this process have reinforced my appreciation for the company's employee-centered culture. I am grateful for the opportunities, professional growth, and support I have received over the past five years.

Pros

Northside Hospital is a reputable healthcare organization with excellent opportunities for career growth and advancement. The pension plan is a standout benefit and adds significant long-term value to the overall compensation package.

Cons

Career advancement opportunities can sometimes feel influenced by internal relationships and networking. Additionally, HR processes may move slowly, particularly when extending offers to new hires or processing employee promotions, which can lead to delays in hiring and career progression. The PTO structure may also be a drawback for some employees, as holiday time off is deducted from PTO balances rather than being provided as separate paid holidays, reducing the amount of discretionary time off available throughout the year.
