Pros
The company from the outside appears to be hip, cool, and prosperous—cool events, editorial properties, and more. 'Brooklyn' is synonymous with that. Management is generally not malicious, and does seem to be friendly with employees.
Cons
There is a lot of undercutting, and not a lot of transparency. The company could build on its great names and brands—it has a lot of respect around the industry, between the festival that has been gaining indie credit each year and the strongly-branded magazine. These properties, if built around properly, could build into something that is envious and respectable. Instead, all that the powers that be care about is selling ads, or sponsored content—which, fair, but any facade of editorial or creative integrity is clearly disingenuous.
