Cons
Recruiters are desperate and will tell you anything to get you in. No financial training whatsoever. Mentors are only in it for joint work. The training received is for life insurance and all the different ways to ask your friends and family for their contacts that you can call. The only financial training I received is when I was studying for the FINRA exams on my own. If you have a job, do not leave it for this. They promise you big earnings, but there were some FAs who had been there for over a year and hadn't broken the $100k barrier. Also, in some cases they hold your commission in an escrow account and disburse it to you over the course of 24 months in case the clients cancel their policy. They don't tell you that until the end of training. Unless you are a recent graduate with a degree in finance or have financial background and a network that knows you as a finance person, you will struggle and find no support, and leave. No one will ask you why you left, they do not care about you.
